IREE

I recently been to Delhi for representing my project on my company stall ( Bombardier India). Wondering what is IREE !!!! It's International Railways Equipment Exhibition. This is carried out by CII in association with Railway Ministry every 3 years. This year it was earlier than expected. Normally it happens in February. This time it was in August. So I was in IREE in Delhi which was from 24-Aug to 26-Aug. This time our company had on display some equipments from the challenging project Delhi Metro ( RS-2 ) including the brain of the system ( Computer Based Interlocking system ), some other small equipments which are again key signalling equipments like Audio Frequency Track Circuits, called AFTC in short and one Bogie . A bogie !!!! as if a train coach !!!! Well if I normally say bogie what comes to mind is a passenger coach ( also called car ) of Indian Railways (IR). But no bro ..... its not the coach, its the lower assembly containing wheels and other subsystems like braking and electrical wiring. Yes believe me ... thats called the Bogie !!!

So u can imagine how big it was .... It was the main attraction of the stall .... as it was quite big, visible from distance and something which no other company was having on display ;) ..... So anyone coming to the stall will first ask the bogie guy about it :) ... I pity the guy who came to give the description for bogie ... He was busy explaining the whole day about it to people ranging from Higher Railway Officials to college going kids .... He was even not having time to go to lunch when finally he got frustrated and joined us for lunch.

Yeah my company is supplying the metro train for Delhi Metro :) ..... Well we reached one day earlier to setup the stall for the big day. The work was too much pending. This time the management and design of the stall was done by a lady from Bombardier Singapore. The management and design of the stall was good. The space of the stall was fully used, but the design last time was very different and innovative. This time the theme was nice and snacks arrangement was good ;) .... First day it was too hot as the AC's were not switched on
coz there was lots of stuff coming into the hall, doors were open most of the time. My whole hanky was soaked. I even don't remember when that happened last time :(.
I had a mild headache which turned a little worse by the evening. But the next day the environment was cool both inside the hall and also outside the hall. There wasn't much hot a day on monday.

Overall it was hot, sweaty nice experience ;) .....
TMS for Central Railway

There is this Hi-Tech project, second of its kind being in India, being implemented in Central Railways. This is same as the one existing for Western Railway (WR) sub-urban section which lies from Churchgate to Virar covering 28 stations and ~60 kms. TMS for Central Railways is being implemented from CST to Kalyan section ( no Harbour lines ). The work is going in full force. Soon the results will be seen :).
